BJP-led National Democratic Alliance has stumped the opposition by naming former Jharkhand governor and tribal leader Droupadi Murmu as its candidate for the Presidential polls. While several non-NDA parties have already pledged their support to Murmu, Jharkhand Chief Minister Hemant Soren’s party JMM, which is part of the 17 parties which nominated Yashwant Sinha as their joint candidate for Presidential polls, is also reviewing its stance given the tribal background of Murmu.
