Anushka Sharma trended on social media after she penned a heartfelt post for her husband Virat Kohli, who stepped down as the Test captain of the Indian cricket team on January 15. The Ae Dil Hai Mushkil actress posted a long note on her Instagram handle, expressing her thoughts after Virat quit the captaincy of the Test team.
Anushka said that Virat 'led by example' and gave 'every ounce of energy' to the game. The actress added that she sat next to him when the right-handed batsman had tears in his eyes after losing a few matches. The Pari star got emotional as she recalled how Virat's journey as the Indian test cricket team skipper started in 2014 .
Several tinsel town celebs including Ranveer Singh, Dia Mirza, Suniel Shetty, Abhishek Banerjee dropped comments on the post. Virat Kohli's sister Bhawna Kohli Dhingra also reacted to Anushka's note for her husband.
Dropping a cute comment, Bhawna wrote, "Who better than a life partner to say it so perfectly."

Yesterday, Bhawna had shared a post on Instagram after Virat informed fans about his decision to quit the captaincy. She wrote, "The kind of passion , honesty and dedication you have for this game we have seen since childhood .You stand tall in all your milestones and have proven your metal from time to time . You have shown the strength of your character by taking this decision too."
Anushka and Virat, who got married in December 2017, welcomed their first child on January 11, 2021. Last week, their baby girl Vamika Kohli celebrated her first birthday. Anushka had dropped an unseen picture of the little munchkin as she turned one.
On the professional front, Anushka will make her return to acting after a three-year sabbatical with Chakda Express. Her last film Zero, which also starred Shah Rukh Khan and Katrina Kaif, released in 2018. Despite the hype, the Aanand L. Rai directorial failed to set the box office on fire. While Anushka stayed away from acting assignments, she successfully produced web shows and films under her home banner.
