Virat Kohli's struggles with the bat compounded on Saturday (July 9) as he was dismissed for a knock of just 1 run in the second T20I between India and England at the Edgbaston Cricket Ground in Birmingham. Kohli was dismissed by 34-year-old debutant pacer Richard Gleeson but it was Dawid Malan's catch that stole the headlines.
In the 7th over of the innings, Kohli tried to flick a delivery over the leg-side boundary but ended up taking a massive edge which took it towards third-man. In what is bound to go down as the 'catch of the series', Malan ran back and ended up taking a stunning catch with an incredible diving effort.

Gleeson had a dream debut as he dismissed modern-day batting legends Rohit Sharma and Kohli in quick succession. Following Kohli's departure, the 34-year-old dismissed the explosive Rishabh Pant on the next delivery. He ended his spell with phenomenal figures that saw him conceded just 15 runs in four overs and take three wickets.
Talking about the match, India ended up with a tally of 170 on the board. Pant and Rohit gave the Men in Blue a quick-fire start which saw them put up a 49-run opening partnership. However, the Men in Blue's middle-order collapsed as after Gleeson's heroics, Jordan dismissed both Suryakumar Yadav and Hardik Pandya on back-to-back deliveries.
However, a stunning knock of 46 in just 29 balls by Ravindra Jadeja helped India put up a respectable total of 170 on the board. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah gave the visitors a brillant start by taking thee wickets in the powerplay.
Kohli's batting failure might just see his place in T20 WC squad come under further scrutiny. The Indian batting talisman's strike-rate in the shortest format was always debated but a poor Indian Premier League season has put doubts on his form too.
