The Karnataka government in a historic move announced 'third gender' reservation in police recruitment. A total of 79 posts out of total 3,484 posts have been reserved for the 'male third gender'. Home minister Araga Jnanendra said the process to fill these vacancies has started. 420 posts have been reserved for candidates from Kalyana Karnataka, with 11 of them for the male third gender. The last date for submitting the form online is October 31. Transgender activists welcomed the move, but they are confused why the home minister said the posts are reserved only for 'male transgenders'.
