Comedian Raju Srivastava has left for his heavenly abode. He was 58.
The Great Indian Laughter Challenge fame was undergoing treatment at Delhi's All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) following cardiac arrest. He had been in the hospital since August 10. More than a month after he was admitted to the hospital, Raju was still on life support. He passed away after being in the hospital for 41 days.
The news of his sad demise was reportedly confirmed by the Srivastava family.
News agency ANI's tweet read, "Comedian Raju Srivastava passes away in Delhi at the age of 58, confirms his family. He was admitted to AIIMS Delhi on August 10 after experiencing chest pain & collapsing while working out at the gym."

While Srivastava's family is yet to share an official statement, condolences have started pouring in.
Minutes after the sad news, Defence Minister Rajnath Singh tweeted: "I am deeply saddened by the passing away of renowned comedian, Raju Srivastava ji. Apart from being an accomplished artist, he was also a very lively person. He was also very active in the social field. I extend my condolences to his bereaved family and fans. Shanti!"

The Baazigar actor is survived by his wife Shikha and daughter Antara Srivastava.
Earlier, his family had said that Raju was responding to the treatment and recovering slowly. His wife Shikha had said that his condition was stable but he was still under observation.
Last month, reports stated that he had gained consciousness on August 25. Reportedly, he had been recovering since then but he was put on a ventilator again after he ran a mild fever of about 100 degrees Fahrenheit.
At the time of the heart attack, Raju, who is the chairperson of the Film Development Council Uttar Pradesh, was in Delhi to meet some leaders of the state. He was working out in a hotel's gym when he complained of chest pain and collapsed. The comedian was rushed to the hospital by his trainer. The former Bigg Boss contestant had undergone an angioplasty the same day.
