To say that Tamil superstar Vikram enjoys a massive fan following across the country would be stating the impossible. With the pan-India success of movies like Anniyan, Deiva Thirumagal, I and more, Chiyaan, as he's fondly called by his fan army, has become one of the most loved South stars. But have you wondered who is Vikram's favourite Bollywood actor? Well, looks like it is superstar Salman Khan.
Vikram on Saturday attended a media event in Mumbai along with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, Mani Ratnam, AR Rahman, Karthi and others for the promotions of his upcoming film Ponniyin Selvan- 1. There, he was asked about his love for Hindi cinema, his favourite film and the dialogue he likes the most.
When Rahman translated the question, Vikram instantly replied, "Tere Naam" and left everyone surprised. Starring Salman Khan in the lead role, the movie was the official Hindi adaption of Vikram's hit Tamil film Sethu.
Instead of sharing his favourite dialogue, the South star went on to sing a few lines of Mere Jeevan Saathi Pyar Kiye Jaa from Kamal Haasan's Ek Duuje Ke Liye.
Meanwhile, South stars Jayam Ravi and Karthi, who are part of the ensemble cast of Mani Ratnam's ambitious project, also answered the same question. While Ravi said that he couldn't name one as they were many Hindi films, Karthi revealed that his is Aamir Khan's Rangeela.
Speaking about the much-awaited Ponniyin Selvan I, the period drama is set to hit theatres on September 30 in Tamil, Hindi, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam.
