TCS Likely to seal Rs 16,000cr ($2bn) deal with BSNL | Business & Market Latest Update

As per a report by Economic Times, TCS is likely to seal a $2bn deal with BSNL, which will launch the latter's 3G Network. Tata co-led consortium will deploy 4G services across 100,000 tower sites. TCS will be India’s first indigenous telecom network solutions provider in a market dominated by global majors. Tejas Networks is expected to locally manufacture the network equipment for BSNL. 4G Product rollout is expected by early next year. BSNL serves some 111 million wireless subscribers. Will also allow TCS and Tejas Networks to take their offerings to private telcos in the country as well as to global operators. This may put India in $500bn global telecom gear market
