Filmmaker Aditya Chopra got married to Rani Mukerji in a private ceremony on April 21, 2014. The wedding was so private that not a single photo of the ceremony got leaked till date. Aditya and Rani are now proud parents to a baby girl whom they named Adira Chopra.
Though Rani Mukerji has worked on several YRF movies, she has never been directed by her husband Aditya Chopra. Well, while speaking about their first date and who confessed their feelings first, the Mardaani actress told Bombay Times, “Of course he said it. I would like it the traditional way.”
The actress further revealed that Aditya asked her out for their first date in front of her parents. Rani was quoted saying by the publication, “On my first date, Adi came home and asked me out in front of my parents. For me, nothing could have been more beautiful than that.”
Recalling her first meeting with Aditya Chopra, Rani Mukerji told, “I first met Adi socially when I was doing Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, through Karan. Though Adi tells me that after my first film Raja Ki Aayegi Baaraat, he has a very vivid memory of seeing me in Sampan restaurant, where much as he had expected, I did not walk up to him to say a hi even though DDLJ had already released and he was already Aditya Chopra. Since actresses would usually walk up and introduce themselves to him, he found it strange. And you will be surprised that he was also instrumental in me getting Kuch Kuch Hota Hai as he saw my first film and told Karan Johar, ‘I think you should take this girl as she will be the next big star.”
Rani Mukerji made her debut in the Hindi film industry with the 1996 movie Raja Ki Aayegi Baraat. She, however, rose to fame after she portrayed the role of Tina in Karan Johar’s 1998 film Kuch Kuch Hota Hai. She is now one of the most successful actresses in Bollywood.
