India are set to take on England in a one-off Test Match starting July 1st. This will be a continuation of the Test series between the two nations in September 2021, after the final Test Match was rescheduled due to COVID-19. India are currently leading the series 2-1, and a win would hand them their first series win on English soil since 2007. One of the most important members of the India squad is definitely Cheteshwar Pujara,
India are currently playing against Leicestershire in a practice match for the upcoming five-day game. In the ongoing match, Cheteshwar Pujara, in an interview to BCCI TV spoke about what the team needs to do for the upcoming match. "It is after a long time. So we just need to regroup. We just need to understand our strengths. The good part for us is we are here early. So there is plenty of time to prepare for all the players," said the middle order batsman.
Pujara also spoke about the importance of winning the Test Match for the Men in Blue. "I think the most important thing is we have a good bunch of players. We have quality fast bowlers. So the way the guys did in the last four matches here, I am sure they are eager to do the same thing again. If we can win this particular Test and win this series on English soil, I think it will probably be one of the best victories for India. All of us are looking forward to this Test match," added the batsman.
In the ongoing practice match, Cheteshwar Pujara is one of the four Indian players representing Leicestershire as per a mutual agreement between the two teams. Even after he go out for the duck in the second innings, Pujara came out to bat for India in the third innings, to get more match time at the crease. He scored 22 off 53 deliveries.
