When Salman Khan told Sidharth Malhotra to work in TV instead of films; here's how the latter reacted
Sidharth Malhotra, who shares a warm rapport with Salman Khan today, recalled his very first meeting with the superstar at his house where he advised him to work in television instead of acting in films. Sidharth was still shooting for his debut movie Student Of The Year at that point.

Sidharth Malhotra made a dream Bollywood debut with Karan Johar’s Student Of The Year alongside Varun Dhawan and Alia Bhatt. Since then, the 37-year-old actor has come a long way, delivering massive hits such as Ek Villain, Kapoor & Sons, and Shershaah, among others.
Being an outsider, Sidharth has carved a niche for himself and has acquired a huge fan following, which is commendable by all means. Speaking about his Bollywood journey so far, Sidharth once recalled his very first encounter with superstar Salman Khan.

Salman, who is known for giving chances to newcomers in the Hindi film industry, happened to tell Sid that he isn’t cut out to be a film actor. Yes, you heard that right!
During an interview with Anupama Chopra, Sidharth revealed, “I had gone to Salman Sir’s house with a friend who was a part of Bigg Boss. When he got to know that I was doing Student Of The Year, he was like ‘I am not very sure, I want to see what you’re all about’.”
Sid further revealed that the Dabangg actor didn’t seem very sure of him being a Hindi film actor, "He suggested me to do television instead."
On being asked if the conversation affected his confidence in any way, Sid said that he was too star-struck to let anything get to him. “I wasn’t offended at all. It was my very first casual conversation with such a huge star. I was only grateful that I was sitting with him in his house and that he offered me a drink!”
As Sidharth had mentioned, the meeting was a casual one and the two stars were able to see the funny side of it when they met later. “When I met Salman Sir during the promotions of that film, he, on a lighter note, said that I was only trying to push you by saying all that," added Sid. Well, that is Salman Khan for you!
On the work front, Sidharth will next be seen in Mission Majnu. He will make his OTT debut with Rohit Shetty’s Indian Police Force.
