Bhopal: Thieves steal Rs 20 lakh worth of items from couple vacationing in Canada

The miscreants stole goods worth 20 lakhs, including about 408.1 grams of gold jewellery, an LED TV, decoration items, and a DVR kept in the cupboard. The police have registered the case and are investigating the incident. The owners had gone to Canada to visit their son at the time of the incident.

Bhopal: Miscreants broke in, destroying the lock of a deserted house and took away jewellery worth about 20 lakh rupees two days ago in the Kolar Road area of Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh, Dainik Bhaskar reported.
The family had gone to Canada with their son at the time of the incident. According to Kolar Road Police, Vashisht Singh, a resident of B Sector, Sarvadharma, retired in 2012 from the post of Malaria Inspector. One of his sons lives in Canada and the other in Pune.
Vashisht Singh and his wife went to Canada on June 12 to be with their son. His son-in-law, Shahpura resident Yogendra Pratap Singh used to go to get the house cleaned. Yogendra told the police that on August 8, when he reached for cleaning, the locks of the door of the house were broken and everything inside the house was scattered.

On getting information about the theft, Vashisht came to Bhopal and handed over the list of stolen goods to the police.
The police have registered the case and are investigating the incident.
A prestigious area on the outskirts of Bhopal is Kolar Road. The main thoroughfare of Kolar Road is where much of the social infrastructure development is taking place. However, due to being relatively new and still developing, the area remains largely deserted, making it difficult for people to keep watch.
