Abhishek Banerjee is a busy man these days. The Bengali lad has made quite an impact in Bollywood and has a slew of releases in the pipeline. Best known for his roles in the films Stree, Rashmi Rocket as well as webseries Paatal Lok, Abhishek, at the end of the day, is a true Bong whose heart lies where Durga Pujo is.
Abhishek confesses that to him, Durga puja has always been a time of celebrations with family and relatives. The actor, says that to him, Puja resonates more as a time one gives to their family, more than anything else.
In an exclusive interaction with Times Now Digital, Abhishek says, “Since am an only child, I have always been with mom and dad visiting different pandals during Durga puja.”

However, this year Abhishek will not be able to celebrate the festivities like always. “For me, if my mom and dad are not in the same city, it is not Durga Pujo. That's how I see it,” says the actor, adding that in 20222 he will be constantly shooting for Rana Naidu.
“But I will try and get my bhog on Ashtami,” the actor adds.
Every Bengali has a fond Durga Puja memory stored somewhere and Abhishek is no different. The Stree actor recalls, “One of my fondest memories of Durga Pujo is actually from Tamil Nadu when my dad was posted there. I had a performance in a musical play in a durga puja pandal. It was special because I got to act in front of a lot of people. So, the acting bug bit me there I would say.”

Commenting on the UNESCO tag that Durga Puja Abhishek reckons Durga puja is a heritage celebration and every year the kind of pandals that are made are a work of art. “. I think that people already knew about the scale and vastness of Durga Pujo and the UNESCO tag will only push its boundaries further.”
As for whether Durga Puja has withstood the test of time, Abhsihek concludes, “My memories for me are mostly childhood memorie of Durga Puja. Once I shifted to Mumbai it became difficult. Interestingly, nowadays, it still has the same energy, just that there are more people now. It has become more organised. During the four days puja from Saptami to Dashami, people are always on the road, and that is not going to change in a long time coming.”
On the work front, Abhishek Banerjee has a flood of back-to-back releases such as Bhediya with Varun Dhawan, Nazarandaaz, Dream Girl 2 with Ayushmann Khurrana and Rana Naidu with Rana Daggubati.
