Ayan Mukerji's Brahmastra: Part One - Shiva, co-starring Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, has turned out to be a massive box office hit. The movie has managed to become the highest-grossing Bollywood film of 2022. It has been backed by Karan Johar's Dharma Productions.
Recently, Karan went on to reveal that he did not like the way the film's song Kesariya was shot originally. It so happened that Karan and Ayan opened up about their film at the FICCI Frames Fast Track event in Mumbai.
At the event, Ayan shared that there was stuff in the movie which Karan did not like. He also revealed that there was a big Kaali puja sequence in the film, and when Karan saw it, he was very 'harsh'.
To this, Karan replied, "I never did that. I said that the scene was very terrible and I said I think you need to re-shoot it. And there was actually, and we can say it now, Kesariya was shot in another way. Kesariya was shot with Ranbir dancing quite feverishly. When we saw the song, I said 'What the hell is going on? What is wrong with you Ayan? Why were they dancing?'. Kesariya was shot differently. Same tune melody but treated differently. It is then that Ayan realised it has to be treated differently."
Kesariya has been written by Amitabh Bhattacharya, sung by Arjit Singh and composed by Pritam. When the song was initially released, it received mixed reviews from the audience.
Apart from Alia and Ranbir, Brahmastra also stars Amitabh Bachchan, Mouni Roy and Nagarjuna in important roles. Shah Rukh Khan has done a cameo in the movie. The second instalment of the film has been titled Brahmastra: Part Two - Dev and it is slated to release in 2025.
