Akshay Kumar, Kriti Sanon starrer Bachchhan Paandey is all set to hit theatres on Friday, March 18. The action comedy, directed by Farhad Samji and produced by Sajid Nadiadwala, is a remake of the 2014 Tamil film Jigarthanda, which itself was inspired by the 2006 South Korean movie A Dirty Carnival. The film will see Akshay Kumar once again in the role of an anti-hero after the 2001 film Ajnabee.
Ahead of its release the team of the film was in Delhi for promotions and in an interaction with the media, Akshay Kumar opened up about the project, as well as being compared to other actors and insecurities, if any of being a part of multi-starrers.
Akshay Kumar is one actor who has been successful in both films that have a single hero, as well as those that have been helmed by multiple actors. In an interaction with the media, the actor, opened up on being a part of multi starrers and whether he is diffident about sharing screen space with other actors. Akshay will be seen sharing screen not only with Kriti Sanon but Arshad Warsi and Jaqueline Fernandez as well in the film.

“I never had any kind of insecurity even when I was in the industry,” the actor recounts, adding, “Main jab industry mein aaya tha, mujhe apna poster dekhna hi bohut bari baat thi mere liye (When I came to the industry, it was a huge deal for me to just get to look at my poster).”
“My family would watch each film14-15 times. Humare liye ye bohut bari cheez hai (It is a big deal for us). I am sure Kriti ke liye bhi hogi. When your film released, it must have been a big thing seeing your poster. Insecurity naam ki cheez toh hum ko pata hi nahin hai (We do not even know what insecurity is).”
“Humare liye toh bohuti bari baat thi ki hum Sanjay Dutt ke saath kaam kare (It was a huge deal for me to just be able to work with someone like Sanjay Dutt). Toh kabhi samajhi hi nahi aayi. Mujhe toh yeh bhi nahi samajh aaya jab aajkal jab log bolte hai ke ye number one hai, ya ye number two hai… hume lagta hai hum Mahalaxmi ke ghore thodi na hai,” he reveals in a humorous manner.
As for the character he essays in Bachchhan Paandey, Akshay Kumar discloses that while the audience will initially be scared of the character, it will soon be replaced with a sense of endearment, before signing off.
