New Delhi: Congress leader Rahul Gandhi is unwell and his scheduled visit to Rajasthan on Wednesday has been cancelled. It has been learned that Rahul was due to travel to Alwar in Rajasthan to attend the Congress’s 'Netratv Sankalp Shivir'.
It may be noted that the Congress party is in power in the desert state and is headed by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot.
News agency ANI reported sources as saying that the visit of Rahul Gandhi to Alwar for the party’s programme has been cancelled as the Wayanad MP is unwell. The main purpose of Rahul’s visit to Alwar today was to attend the 'Netratv Sankalp Shivir'.
The development came on a day when Rahul’s sister and Congress general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra said that she has tested positive for COVID-19. Priyanka revealed this via a tweet. The Congress leader said she has isolated herself at home and is following all coronavirus pandemic-related protocols.
"Tested positive for Covid (again!) today. Will be isolating at home and following all protocols," she tweeted.
It may be recalled that last month, Rahul and Priyanka’s mother, Sonia Gandhi, the interim president of the Congress party, had also tested for COVID-19. She had to be hospitalised as well for some days in Delhi.
