Lock Upp Update: Munawar Faruqui makes shocking revelation on Kangana Ranaut's show, says his mom died by suicide

Kangana Ranaut hosted Ekta Kapoor's latest reality show Lock Upp has been well received by viewers. On Sunday, the 49th episode of the show was high on emotions as contestant Munawar Faruqui and Zeeshan Khan shared deep secrets when Kangana asked them to. The episode also saw Mandana Karimi getting locked out and eventually being evicted from the show.

When Kangana Ranaut asked the contestants in chargesheet to reveal their deepest secrets, it was Ali Merchant who pressed the buzzer at the earliest and got to share his secret about the word 'divorce'. The actor revealed he had gotten into an arranged marriage in 2016 but was separated and got divorced in December 2021.

Here's what Munawar Faruqui said

Munawar Faruqui too shared a secret about his mom, even though that did not save him from eviction. Munawar said, “It was the January of 2007 when my grandmom woke me up around 7 am, saying something had happened to my mother and she was in the hospital. My mom was screaming when I saw her in the hospital as she was being brought out of the emergency ward. She had her hand on her stomach and I held her hands."

Munawar revealed his entire family stood and watched but no one told him what happened. According to Munawar after his mom was shifted to the civic hospital, his grandmom took him aside and revealed to him that his mom had consumed acid.

I asked her why were we not telling the doctors and she said 'hum log problem me aa jaenge (we will be in trouble)'. I told my mom's sister's daughter, who was a nurse there and she was shocked. It was only then that her treatment began," he revealed.

"I still remember it was a Friday afternoon. There was a moment when the doctors asked me to leave her hand and when they forced me to, I realised my mom had died. I still cannot let that go. I always think things may have been different had I slept with my mom that night, had I reached the hospital earlier," he said, adding that the doctors revealed to him that his mom had not had anything to eat for eight days. "For 22 years of her married life, my mom was not happy. All my life, I saw her being beaten up or saw fights between my parents," he said.

Amid all this Zeeshan Khan started crying. When Kangana asked him the reason, Zeeshan revealed he too faced something similar and that the thing that hit him hard was when he would go to the hospital, he would pray that she makes it out. Zeeshan, however, added that his dad was not the reason for his mom's misfortune but rather other members of the family.
