Shailesh Lodha has been hogging all the limelight ever since rumours about him quitting Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah surfaced on the internet. While gossip mills suggest that the actor is miffed with the production house due to the exclusivity clause in his contract, producer Asit Modi has denied having any knowledge about his exit from the show.
Speculations are rife that Shailesh Lodha is upset as he is unable to take up other work assignments due to his exclusive contract. The talented actor has not shot for TMKOC since the past month and this is said to be affecting the quality of the episode as he plays the titular role and the narrator.
If a recent report in a portal is to believed, Shailesh has stopped picking up calls from Asit Modi and his co-stars, who are keen to have him back. The actor-poet has set his phone in a way where most of his calls get disconnected after one ring, the report added.
If Asit Modi loses hope, he can start the auditions for Shailesh Lodha's replacement, a source told ETimes. The actor, while attending a book launch event, was asked about his rumoured exit from TMKOC. He chose to dodge the question and said that he would only speak about his new book. A video of Shailesh from the event went viral on the internet.
Shailesh, who is known for his comic timing, has been a part of Taarak Mehta Ka Ooltah Chashmah since its inception. While the actor is missing from the show, there are mumours that the character of Dayaben will return soon.
Disha Vakani aka Dayaben is on a maternity break since November 2017. It remains to be seen if Asit Modi will introduce a new Daya or he will convince Disha to stage a comeback after five years.
