Bollywood actress Kajol has undoubtedly made progress in her career since making her start with Bekhudi and going on to star in films like Gupt, Baazigar, Pyaar Kiya To Darna Kya, Kuch Kuch Hota Hai, My Name Is Khan, etc. Kajol has consistently proven her mettle and established herself as the definition of flexibility. Interestingly, Kajol has worked in the industry for 30 years and is eager to work on solid scripts.

She is the newest Bollywood star to be invited to join the Oscars committee. Other members of the group include Shah Rukh Khan, Amitabh Bachchan, Vidya Balan, Aamir Khan, and Salman Khan. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed its guest list for the Class of 2022 on Tuesday, and Kajol is the only star from the Hindi cinema industry to be asked to join this year.

In an interview with Pinkvilla, Kajol revealed her first reaction to the announcement of the list. She said, “I am of course very very proud of that fact. I was a little taken aback, I was a little surprised. But I think it is something that I am very proud of the fact that as an Indian I've been invited there and that is I think it's a proud moment for everybody.”

The incoming class of 2022 consists of 71 Oscar nominations and 15 wins, with 44% of the participants being female and 37% coming from marginalized groups. The Academy will only welcome new members in 2022 if they accept the invites.

On the work front, Kajol has collaborated with Revathi for Salaam Venky which also stars Vishal Jethwa and Aahana Kumra in key roles.
