A pet dog's photos have gone viral on social media after a venomous snake's bite left his face swelling up like the cartoon character Snoopy.

A pet dog's photos have gone viral on social media after a venomous snake's bite left his face swelling up like the cartoon character Snoopy.

Xuebi, a Husky, was found drooling in the front garden by his owner, from Anhui city in east China. He was suffering from facial swelling around his snout.

The owner posted a video of the doggo's swelled up face on Douyin, showing young Xuebi looking drowsy while staring at the camera.

The dog parent said that the pet's head doubled in size after he got bitten by a snake in the snout.

The owner took a picture of the snake and took Xuebi to a veterinarian.

The snake was identified as the venomous short-tailed pit viper that can be mostly found in China.

The vet treated the poor dog with an anti-venom and he's recovering slowly.

Netizens said that Xuebi was "lucky" to be alive.

One user said, "That is so sad. Praying for little Xuebi to get well soon." Another wrote, "Poor boy it must be painful! Looks like he got bitten in the snout."

Some joked that Xuebi looked like the cartoon character Snoopy.

Three days later, the owner updated that the dog's swelling had significantly gone down and Xuebi looked happier than ever.
