He smiles when he plays a rogue shot, if he gets away...: Leicestershire's Walker opens up on batting with Pant

Warm-up game: Leicestershire's strike bowler Roman Walker opened up about having Rishabh Pant in their dressing room and talked about what fun he had batting alongside him. Walker took a five-wicket haul in the first innings which included the scalps of Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli.

The warm-up and the practices are all done as India gear up to take on England in the rescheduled final Test at Edgbaston later this week. The Indian players played a friendly warm-up match against Leicestershire where four of their team members played for the home side while a couple of players featured for both of them.
It was more of an extended net session, however, it was a good practice for all the players as head coach Rahul Dravid mentioned and the visitors now will be expected to hit the ground running with just one match and they will not be under pressure since they are leading 2-1.
Out of the four players, who played for Leicestershire, wicket-keeper batter Rishabh Pant was one of them. Several Leicestershire players got friendly with the likes of Jasprit Bumrah, Cheteshwar Pujara, Prasidh Krishna and Pant given they played together for a few days and even were singing praises of them for spending time with their youngsters and having meals together.
One of the stars of the game for Leicestershire, Roman Walker shared his experience of playing alongside Indian players, especially Pant. Walker speaking to the Leicestershire media team said, "It was great, Pant has been great with our boys. He is great fun to bat with. He smiles whenever he plays a rogue shot. If he gets away with it, he laughs, if he doesn't, he laughs.”
Pant had scored a stroke-filled 76 in the first innings against his own teammates.
Speaking more about Pant, Walker said that it was a great learning for him from Pant, whom he talked to about his options, how to play different bowlers, etc.
“It's a great thing to learn from the other end. Just talking to him about options, how to play different bowlers, very valuable," he added.
