Shah Rukh Khan confirms Rajkumar Hirani's Dunki with hilarious video: 'Raju ke liye main donkey, monkey, kuch bhi ban sakta hoon'

Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan, who was last seen on the silver screen in 2018, is all set to make his comeback with the much-awaited film Pathaan. Rumours about his other upcoming projects have been in the air for quite some time. And now, SRK has finally confirmed his collaboration with Rajkumar Hirani.

Shah Rukh sent fans into a frenzy on Tuesday after sharing the announcement video of his upcoming film with the 3 Idiots director. Sharing the clip, he penned an equally funny caption. "Dear@RajkumarHirani sir, Aap toh Mere Santa Claus nikle. Aap shuru karo main time pe pahunch jaunga. actually main toh set par hi rehne lagunga. Feeling humbled & excited to finally work with you. Bringing to you all #Dunki in cinemas on 22nd December 2023," read his tweet.

The video shows the actor-director duo having banter about Dunki. It starts with SRK talking about Aamir Khan's PK and Ranbir Kapoor-starrer Sanju. He then asks Rajkumar if he has any iconic character for him. When the director says yes, an excited SRK quizzes him about the film's details. But it is the title of the movie that leaves him scratching his head. Check out the video here:

The film, which stars Taapsee Pannu opposite SRK, went on floors this April. The next schedule will be shot in Punjab. Dunki is being bankrolled by Rajkumar and Shah Rukh Khan's wife Gauri.

Talking about his first collaboration with the Munna Bhai MBBS director, Shah Rukh said, “Raj Kumar Hirani is one of the finest filmmakers of this generation, we have always spoken about working together and I am extremely happy we are finally doing it with Dunki. We have just started shooting this month and I am cherishing every moment of it. Raju ke liye main Donkey, Monkey...kuch bhi ban sakta hoon!”

Meanwhile, Rajkumar Hirani added, “Through the course of my career Shah Rukh Khan has always been on my wish list and after trying to collaborate several times in the past, we were finally destined to have ‘Dunki’ mark our partnership. The energy, charisma, humour and charm that he brings to a film is unparalleled and I look forward to bringing that magic to the big screen.”
