Ranchi: The BJP has lashed out at the Jharkhand government amid furore over the death of another minor tribal girl in Jharkhand's Dumka district. The victim was found dead on Saturday hanging on the tree days after a minor girl was set ablaze. The party as also questioned why the investigation into the 14-year-old tribal girl's case had been given to the same DSP who was taken off the investigation in the earlier case.
"A girl was set ablaze last week and now a tribal girl was hanged by the tree to her death. She was pregnant, which means she was being raped for months on the pretext of promises. I think the administration is directly responsible for this as it is losing control over criminals. It seems that law and order have completely collapsed in the state. Government is the wheel for the administrative work which is not present in the government because the government is busy in political engagement. It is creating political instability," Union Minister for Tribal Affairs Arjun Munda claimed on Sunday.
The police have said that investigations are underway and her pregnancy (or lack thereof) would be confirmed once the reports came out. The accused in the case has been arrested and identified as Arman Ansari.
"We saw one more incident in Dumka and instead of taking strong action and have zero tolerance, CM Hemant Soren says that these kind of incidents takes place. Why Rahul Gandhi is not doing any 'halla bol' on this?'' added BJP spokesperson Shehzad Poonawalla.
Earlier on August 23, a minor girl was set ablaze by accused Shahrukh. After struggling for five days she succumbed to her injuries on August 28. Shahrukh along with an accomplice has been arrested. Jharkhand government constituted a 10-member Special Investigation Team (SIT) under the supervision of an SP to investigate the matter.
