Kamal Haasan’s Vikram continues its box-office onslaught, breaches Rs. 400 crore mark at the end of fourth week run

Actor Kamal Haasan’s latest release Vikram, which also stars Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil, and Suriya in key roles, has set the cash registers on fire as it recently emerged as the highest-grossing film of all time in Tamil Nadu, overtaking the top place held by SS Rajamouli’s Baahubali 2. The Lokesh Kanagaraj directorial has now breached the Rs. 400 crore mark at the end of fourth week run in cinemas.

Kamal Haasan's Vikram is showing no signs of slowing down at the box office even as the film has completed its fourth week of run in cinemas. The film has dethroned SS Rajamouli's Baahubali 2 to become the highest-grossing film in Tamil Nadu. It has also breached the Rs. 400 crore mark worldwide and has become the second Tamil film after Rajinikanth’s 2.0 to achieve this feat.
Vikram, which was also dubbed and released in Hindi, Telugu and Malayalam, features Kamal Haasan in the role of a former agent Vikram, who sets out to avenge the death of his son, an undercover officer in the narcotics bureau.
Industry tracker Ramesh Bala took to Twitter to announce that Vikram has entered Rs. 400 crore club.

Trade sources have confirmed that the film is having a phenomenal run and will soon enter the Rs. 450 crore club.
Meanwhile, the entire team is buoyed by the film’s success. Two weeks ago, Kamal Haasan met the media in Chennai and said he was thrilled with the response to the movie. He said that the success will only motivate them to work harder on their next collaboration. He thanked actor Suriya for accepting the offer to play a 10-minute cameo in the movie. Suriya, who comes as the main antagonist, plays a character called Rolex.
Kamal Haasan and Lokesh Kanagaraj will reunite for the next part of the Vikram franchise next year.
Vikram has emerged as the biggest grossing film in Kamal Haasan’s career. Haasan now has plans to revive his shelved projects such as Shabash Naidu and Marmayogi, among others.
