In order to ensure that all members of India's touring party get game, four Indian players - Cheteshwar Pujara, Rishabh Pant, Jasprit Bumrah, and Prasidh Krishna were put in the Leicestershire playing 11. Later on, three Indian net bowlers' Navdeep Saini, R Sai Kishore, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti also took the field for the English domestic side and bowled for them in the second innings.
Navdeep Saini in particular stood out for a particular over on Day 3 where he dismissed India batsmen KS Bharath and Ravindra Jadeja in the same over. Wicketkeeper-batsman KS Bharath, who opened the innings for India in the second innings faced a short ball from the right-arm pacer, he ended up playing a miscued shot that went straight to the hands of another Indian teammate Jasprit Bumrah at mid-on.
Two deliveries later, Navdeep Saini bowled a length ball to Ravindra Jadeja who attempted to block it but it took the edge and flew to Louis Timber at second slip. Thus Saini ended up with two wickets in a space of three balls. While Bharat got out on 43, Jadeja was dismissed for a duck.
India scored 246-8 in the first innings of the game, with KS Bharat top scoring with 70 runs. In reply, Leicestershire were bowled out for 244. The highlight of the innings was an aggressive 76-run innings from Rishabh Pant. In reply, India are currently batting on 355 in the second innings. After getting dismissed by Navdeep Saini, Ravindra Jadeja again came out to bat at no. 9. He is currently on the crease having made a half-century.
