WhatsApp is releasing the ability to react to messages by using more emoji reactions. The Meta-owned messaging app is rolling out an updated version of message reactions to some beta testers on WhatsApp beta for Android and iOS, reported WABetaInfo.
At present WhatsApp users can only react to messages using six emojis - Like, Love, Laugh, Surprised, Sad, and thanks. With this feature, WhatsApp users can react to messages with any emojis on the keyboard.
According to the website, the messaging is releasing the feature to some beta testers that are using the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.22.15.6, 2.22.15.7, and WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.14.0.71 versions. WABetaInfo also shared the screenshot of the feature.
The website wrote, "In order to verify if the feature is already enabled for your WhatsApp account, you need to try to react to a message: if a new plus icon is visible right within the reaction tray, it means you can already use any emoji to react to messages! When you tap the plus icon, the keyboard is invoked on WhatsApp beta for Android."
There is a draggable section when using WhatsApp beta for iOS. Notably, users can easily select and search for any emoji. Currently, the "new message reactions" has been released to only some beta testers. The app will soon release the feature to more users over the coming weeks.
WhatsApp is also working on a feature to keep messages in disappearing chats. Once this feature is rolled out, users will be able to save messages even if the disappearing messages feature is enabled
