Brahmastra maintains good hold at US BO

Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra opened to good numbers on September 9.The film became the number one movie at the global office during the weekend. Incidentally, this is the first time that a Bollywood film has topped international charts and the third for any Indian film.
As per official reports, the Ayan Mukerji film made Rs 36 crore at the box office on its opening day, making it the biggest opener of this year. In the first three days, Brahmastra managed to earn Rs 120.75 crore domestically.
Earlier today, film producer and business analyst Girish Johar took to Twitter to reveal that the film is doing well at the US box office. He tweeted, "Maintaining its good hold at the US BO, #Brahmastra jumps on Tuesday grossing $450k+ for a CBO of $5.3M. It will surpass #2Point0 & will step into All Time Top 15 Indian films at US #BoxOffice #BOEstimates #BOTrends @BrahmastraFilm".

Meanwhile, closer home, Brahmastra boz may not be all that as it is being hyped to be. Johar had earlier tweeted, "Just around the double digit mark, early numbers indicating ... around 20% fall from Mon BO... Very #EarlyTrends suggesting an underwhelming Tuesday BO for #Brahmastra #BOEstimates #BOTrends".
Meanwhile, Ayan Mukerji recentlyrevealed that makers have been thinking about a spin-off for Shah Rukh Khan's character from Brahmastra. According to him, the idea was in fact first floated while they were filming the sequence. For the unversed, SRK had an extended cameo appearance in the filmas scientist Mohan Bhargav, the wielder of Vanarastra.
Notably, Brahmastra bested pre-pandemic blockbusters Sanju (Another Ranbir Kapoor starrer) as well as Tiger Zinda Hai and Dhoom 3. The first-day earnings have surpassed those of the biggest post-pandemic grosser, the Akshay Kumar and Katrina Kaif-led Sooryavanshi as well.
