WhatsApp is working on some exciting updates to further enhance the user interface. The Meta-owned instant messaging app is developing the ability to customise an avatar for using it as a profile photo, reported WABetaInfo. The "avatar profile photo" update will be available for WhatsApp beta for Android, iOS, and Desktop.
WABetaInfo also shared a screenshot of the feature from the WhatsApp beta for Android. "You will be able to choose the perfect avatar for you by customizing it. In addition, you will also be able to choose a background color to use within the profile photo," the website wrote.
Notably, the feature is also available on WhatsApp beta for iOS and Desktop beta. The "avatar profile photo" feature is in the under-development stages and its release date is not yet known.
Last month, reports also surfaced that, the Meta-owned website was working on the ability to create an avatar. Users will also be able to use avatars while pacing video calls and can even be used as a sticker. Notably, avatars are a new way to be you on WhatsApp.
Recently, the app also released 'status reactions' feature to some beta users. With this feature, users can now react to a message status with eight emojis - Smiling Face with Heart-Eyes, Face with Tears of Joy, Face with Open Mouth, Crying Face, Folded Hands, Clapping Hands, Party Popper, and Hundred Points. Soon this update will be rolled out to more users.
