New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to hoist the national flag at the ramparts of Red Fort in Delhi and address the nation as it celebrates the 76th Independence Day on Monday.
When to watch PM Modi's speech?
PM Modi will hoist the national flag from Red Fort on Monday from 7:30 am onwards. This will be followed by his address to the nation.
Where to watch the PM's speech?
PM Modi’s speech will be live broadcast by Doordarshan and All India Radio. It will be live streamed by the Press Information Bureau's (PIB) YouTube channel and Twitter handle. It can be watched here also on Times Now's YouTube channel:
PM Modi's schedule for I-Day
The Prime Minister will arrive at Raj Ghat at 7.06 am and depart from there at 7.14 am. He will then reach Red Fort at 7:18 am at Lahori Gate/Saluting Base and will be received by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh and other top defence officials.
Following his arrival, PM will review guards on foot and enter the Red Fort from Lahore Gate Area at 7.30 am. PM will then arrive at rampart for the unfurling of the Tricolour.
The unfurling of the Tricolour will be followed by National Salute, National Anthem, 21 gun salute from ATAG (indigenous) and guards march off.
At 7.32 am, the Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopter will shower petals on the rampart.
At 7.33 am, PM Modi will begin his address to the nation. It will concludes with Jai Hind and release of Tricolour balloons.
A total of 8,000 people will be allowed to attend the event and more than 10,000 police personnel will be deployed at Red Fort to over see it.
