Shimla: In view of the upcoming assembly elections in Himachal Pradesh, BJP chief Jagat Prakash Nadda on Saturday reached his home state on a four-day visit during which he will participate in various programmes and hold organisational meetings in view of the upcoming elections.
Addressing a public gathering in Shimla, Nadda listed the achievements of the BJP governments at the Centre and in the state. He said the saffron party has done several development workers in Himachal Pradesh and many are being done.
"We came back to power in four states in the recently concluded Assembly elections and now it's Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat's turn," the Bharatiya Janata Party chief said raising a poll pitch in the Himalayan state. "Had you ever thought that a medical college will open in Hamirpur and Chamba? But we did it. Several kilometers of roads were constructed, which was not an easy work to do," he added.
The senior BJP leader also participated in a roadshow from the state assembly to Peterhoff on the first day of his visit.
Nadda credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi with changing the 'culture of politics' by being proactive in implementing various social service initiatives. Be it 185 crores double dose vaccination, surgical or air strikes in Pakistan, or safe evacuation of 23,000 Indians from war-torn Ukraine, the Modi government worked with determination in every field, he said.

Union MinisterAnurag Thakur takes dig at AAP

Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur and Union minister Anurag Thakur also underlined the good work done by the BJP dispensation at the Centre and the state.
Anurag Thakur took a dig at the Aam Aadmi Party, which is eyeing Himachal after success in Punjab, saying that their candidates will lose deposits here like they did in Uttar Pradesh.
"BJP will retain power in the state. We've hit a 'Chauka' by winning in four states and will hit six by this year-end by winning in Himachal Pradesh and Gujarat. AAP lost deposits in UP and will lose here in Himachal Pradesh also," the Union Minister said.
