PM Modi to inaugurate AIIMS Bilaspur, attend Kullu Dussehra celebrations tomorrow [details]

New Delhi/Shimla: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will inaugurate the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) in Bilaspur as well as take part in the famous Kullu Dussehra celebrations during his visit to Himachal Pradesh on Wednesday.
As per an official statement, the PM will inaugurate and lay the foundation stone for development projects worth more than Rs 3,650 crore in the poll-bound state.
It added that the PM's vision to strengthen health services across the country is being displayed yet again with the inauguration of AIIMS, Bilaspur.
Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Jai Ram Thakur told the media on Monday that PM Modi will also witness the Rath Yatra at the International Kullu Dussehra.
The fact that the PM consented to be a witness to the Rath Yatra demonstrates his affection and connection to Himachal Pradesh and its people, said Thakur.
The HP CM on Monday took stock of preparations at Rath Maidan in Dhalpur, Kullu district, where the PM is due to visit.
According to a statement, PM Modi laid the foundation stone of the newly-built hospital in October 2017 as part of the Centre's Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana.
AIIMS, Bilaspur, built at a cost of over Rs 1,470 crore, has 18 speciality and 17 super-speciality departments, 18 modular operation theatres and 750 beds, including 64 ICU beds.
The hospital, spread over 247 acres, is equipped with 24-hour emergency and dialysis facilities, and modern diagnostic machines such as CT scan, ultrasonography, and MRI among others. There is also an AYUSH block with 30 beds and a Jan Aushadhi Kendra.
Additionally, the hospital established a Center for Digital Health to provide health services to tribal and inaccessible areas of the state.
The hospital will also provide specialist health services through health camps in remote tribal and high Himalayan regions such as Kaza, Saluni, and Keylong.
A total of 100 students will be admitted to the MBBS program and 60 to the nursing program every year at the hospital, the statement added.
The PM will also lay the foundation stone for a 31-km-long project for four-laning of NH-105 between Pinjore and Nalagarh that is valued at more than Rs 1,690 crore.
In addition, PM Modi will lay the foundation stone for Medical Device Park at Nalagarh, which will cost around Rs 350 crore.
It also said that Memorandums of Understanding of over Rs 800 crore have already been signed for establishing industries in this park, thus enhancing employment opportunities in the region.
International Kullu Dussehra Festival will be held from October 5 to 11 at Dhalpur Ground in Kullu, said the statement, adding that the event will bring together worshippers of more than 300 deities of the valley.
