New Delhi: Addressing the nation from the Red Fort on the occasion of 76th Independence Day, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday called on the nation to move forward with five pledges to fulfil the freedom fighters' dreams by the year 2047.
After hoisting the national flag on the completion of 75 years of independence, PM Modi mentioned panch pran or five pledges on which the citizens need to focus in the next 25 years.
“In the coming years, we have to focus on panch pran,” said PM Modi.
The first pledge, he said, is to move forward with bigger resolves and resolve for a developed India. The second is to erase all traces of servitude.
“Third, be proud of our legacy; fourth, strength of unity; and fifth, duties of citizens which include the PM and CMs,” the prime minister said.
Modi said when dreams are big, it is important to do hard work. We need to be inspired by the pledge and determination of freedom fighters who dreamt of a free India, he added.
PM Modi called on the youth to dedicate the next 25 years of their lives to the nation's development. “We will work towards the development of the entire humanity,” he said.
The PM stressed that experience shows once we take resolve, we fulfil our goals. But, we should not try to imitate others, he added.
