Hyderabad: Inter-State drug peddler from Goa arrested; LSD, Ecstacy pills, MDMA seized from his possession

Hyderabad: The Hyderabad Narcotic Enforcement Wing (H-NEW) along with Osmania University Police have apprehended an inter-state drug peddler from Goa. Twenty ecstasy pills, five LSD blots, four grams of MDMA, one mobile phone, and Rs 4,000 in cash were seized from his possession, as reported by news agency IANS.
According to the police, they had received information about the peddler identified as Priteesh and that he was trying to sell drugs at Habsiguda to drug consumers on Tuesday. The arrest was announced on Wednesday, reported IANS.
The Police investigation also discovered that Priteesh along with Manzoor Ahmed, also from Goa, had been procuring the drugs in a bulk quantity from Thukaram Salgovkar alias Nana, Vikas Naik alias Vicky, Ramesh Chowhan, Steve, Edwin Nunis and Sanja Gowekar for a lesser price. The same was then sold to consumers for a much higher price, as reported by IANS.
The accused had been peddling drugs in Anjuna Beach in Goa and in Telangana and Andhra Pradesh for the last eight years.
In a similar incident, yesterday in Mumbai, the Anti-Narcotics Cell (ANC) of Mumbai police said that it had apprehended one more suspect in connection with a drug case registered in March 2022. With the recent arrest, a total of seven accused have been held in the drugs racket case. The drugs were seized from the Ankleshwar area of Bharuch district of Gujarat and consisted of more than 513 kilograms of MD drugs.
According to ANC Deputy Commissioner of Police, Datta Nalawade, several links connected them to Gujarat from where the seventh accused got arrested. One of the accused utilised his knowledge of organic chemistry to prepare mephedrone and supply it to their clients. The accused was reached out through social media.
The ANC team apprehended drug peddler Giriraj Dikshit and recovered a shipment of over 500 kgs of MD narcotics from his possession. The recovery was made after a raid in the Ankleshwar area. The value of the seized consignment is worth 1026 crores in the international market.
