It seems that despite having massive promotions and a mega budget, Akshay Kumar starrer Samrat Prithviraj has not been able to beat Kartik Aaryan's horror comedy Bhool Bulaiyaa 2 in Day 1 business at the box office.
Kartik Aaryan’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has taken the box office numbers by storm. Earlier today film critic and trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to Twitter to share the highest Day 1 earners at the box office. Adarsh tweeted that Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 not only bested Samrat Prithviraj, but Bachchhan Paandey and Gangubai Kathiawadi at the box office as well.
According to Adarsh, while Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 earned Rs 14.11 crore on Day 1, Bachchan Paandey earned Rs 13.25 crore while Samrat Prithviraj and Alia Bhatt starrer Gangubai Kathiawadi raked in Rs 10.70 crore and Rs 10.50 crore respectively.

With Advance bookings for Samrat Prithviraj treaded slowly with only 37000 tickets sold, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 has taken over the trade box with over 1.05 lakh sale of tickets.
However, Adarsh further tweeted that the top Day 1 business at the box office has still been done by two dubbed movies - Prashanth Neel's KGF: Chapter 2 and SS Rajamouli's RRR. While the Yash hand Srinidhi Shetty starrer had earned Rs 53.95 crore on day 1, Ram Charan and Jr NTR's film raked in Rs 20.07 crore.

After beating Alia's Gangubai Kathiawadi and Ranveer Singh's Jayeshbhai Jordaar, Kartik delivered the biggest opening of the year with Rs 14.11 crore and has managed to hold the position now after beating Akshay Kumar's, Samrat Prithviraj which had a lukewarm opening of Rs 10.70 crores only.
Now that the numbers are here, we can confidently say that India is still high on Kartik’s Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 fervor, and there is no stopping point for that. With several critics and reviewers hailing the film, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 2 is being credited to end the drought of commercial films at the box office and is said to be one of the successful most films this year.
