Celebs and Their Acting Gurus

Every person requires a teacher to lead them on the proper road in life and show them the way. No matter what field you are in, a mentor, a ‘Guru’ is always needed to show you the right way. That is also the case with Bollywood celebs.
There are many actors in the current lot who credit stars like Salman Khan, Aamir Khan, and even directors including Karan Johar for their success. As their Guru, these celebs guided the younger generation of actors. On the occasion of Teachers’ Day (September 5), we take a look at some of the actor-Guru Jodis of Bollywood.
Manoj Bajpayee and Guru Barry John
Family Man fame Manoj Bajpayee considers prominent theatre star, Barry John as his mentor. For his role in Aligarh, Bajpayee even received praise and compliments from his guru. Barry John is also Shahrukh Khan’s mentor.
Various Actors and Guru Salman Khan
There are many actors in Bollywood who consider Salman Khan as their mentor. From Arjun Kapoor who was advised by Bhaijaan to lose weight and try acting to Zarine Khan who was launched by him, there are numerous talents that the Ek Tha Tiger star brought into the industry. We have Sooraj Pancholi, Athiya Shetty, Pulkit Samrat, Jacqueline Fernandez, and others who consider him as their ‘Guru’.
Alia Bhatt and Guru Karan Johar
KJo launched Alia Bhatt as well as Varun Dhawan and Sidharth Malhotra in Student of The Year in 2013. But while all three debuted with his film, the director is particularly fond of Alia. The two share a sweet bond where even the actress often mentions how she considers Karan as her forever guide and mentor.
Sidharth Malhotra and Guru Shah Rukh Khan
While SRK might not have directly mentored Sid, he most certainly had his mark on the young actor. When he was working as an assistant director on the sets of My Name is Khan, the Shershaah actor confessed that he was in awe of Shah Rukh's performance.
Vicky Kaushal and Guru Anurag Kashyap
The award-winning star Vicky Kaushal is known for his performances in films like URI: The Surgical Strike, Sardar Udham, and more. But before all this, he was an aspiring talent assisting Anurag Kashyap on Gangs of Wasseypur. The actor often talks about the impact Kashyap had on him and thanks the director for casting him in films like Manmarziyaan, Bombay Velvet, and Raman Raghav 2.0.
Priyanka Chopra and Guru Pradeep Guha
As an outsider in the industry, she quickly found a mentor in director Pradeep Guha. PeeCee shared a note on her Instagram after his passing. She called Guha, ‘forever champion’ and ‘her mentor’. “You saw something in me I never knew I had,” she wrote in her note.
Happy Teachers' Day to all these 'Gurus'.
