Laal Singh Chaddha, starring Aamir Khan, was premiered yesterday (August 11). The movie has been surrounded by controversy for a while now. The hashtag #BoycottLaalSinghChaddha began trending among internet users, and now the movie is embroiled in yet another controversy. According to reports by Etimes, a radical organisation attempted to prevent the movie from showing in one of Jalandhar's theatres.
The outlier group claims that Laal Singh Chaddha has offended their religious sentiments. They continued by labeling Aamir an anti-Hindu and urging people to avoid seeing his movie. Additionally, they stated that they would not let the theatrical release of Laal Singh Chaddha. Apparently, a demand letter was sent on their behalf to the DCP, following which they left the location.
Likely, When more activists arrived at the mall, they confronted the opposition. The opposing group declared that they would not permit anyone to boycott the movie and that they were present to see who managed to interrupt the showing.
Earlier, Aamir responded to the social media boycott of his movie and the cancel culture while attending a function. He had earlier stated earlier, "Agar maine kisi ka dil dukhaaya hai kisi cheez se toh mujhe us baat ka dukh hai, main kisi ka dil nahi dukhaana chahta hun. Jin jinko film nahi dekhni hai, main us baat ki izzat karunga, aur kya keh sakte hain (If I have hurt someone's heart with something, I feel sad for that, I don't want to hurt anyone. Those who don't wish to see the film, I will respect their decision. What else can I say)."
Laal Singh Chaddha also features Kareena Kapoor, Mona Singh, and Naga Chaitanya in pivotal roles.
