Vijayawada: Union Minister Anurag Thakur on Sunday trained guns at Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal calling him "kingpin" of the Delhi liquor policy case. He also claimed that corruption has "reached its peak" in the national capital.
The BJP leader said taking back of excise police in Delhi after raids by Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) "proves" corruption happened in the city.
While speaking to media, Anurag Thakur said, "Kejriwal model has failed in Delhi. Corruption has reached its peak. The taking back of excise policy in Delhi after CBI's raid proves corruption has happened."
"Kingpin Arvind Kejriwal will have to answer for this," he added.
His comments have come on the day when Delhi Deputy CM Manish Sisodia claimed that the central agency has issued a Look Out Circular against him in connection with the case.
The Central Bureau of Investigation on Friday raided 31 locations, including Deputy Chief Minister Manish Sisodia's residence, in connection with the irregularities in the Delhi government's Excise Policy 2021-22.
On Saturday the CBI summoned several accused for questioning in the corruption case in connection with the Delhi excise policy.
The investigative agency is currently probing the process of verification of bank transactions along with documents related to the case and electronic gadgets which were seized during the raids.
Excise officials, liquor company executives, dealers along with unknown public servants and private persons have also been booked in the case.
