Bollywood star couple Alia Bhatt and Ranbir Kapoor, who tied the knot in April this year after dating each other for five years, are going to be parents soon. Yes, you heard that right! The newlyweds are expecting their first child together.

Alia Bhatt on Monday (June 27) took to her Instagram handle to announce the good news and sent the internet into a meltdown. Sharing a picture of herself and Ranbir from an ultrasound session, she wrote, "Our baby ….. coming soon."

In the photo, Alia is seen clad in a black outfit while her husband is seen wearing a grey t-shirt and cap. It shows the newlyweds gushing over the screen, which the actress decided to cover with a heart emoji. Take a look at the adorable post here:

Congratulations are pouring in for the Brahmastra stars. Scores of celebrities and millions of fans have extended sweet wishes to the couple.

Interestingly, two days before the pregnancy announcement, Ranbir had spoken about starting a family with Alia. At Brahmastra's trailer launch, he said, "Abhi mujhe family banani hai, unke liye kaam karna hai. Pehle mai khudke liye kaam karraha tha."

Alia Bhatt, 29, and Ranbir Kapoor, 39, tied the knot in an intimate wedding ceremony on April 14. Their wedding was a private affair held at Ranbir's Bandra home. Announcing that they have started a new chapter as husband and wife, Alia had written, "Today, surrounded by our family and friends, at home … in our favourite spot - the balcony we’ve spent the last 5 years of our relationship - we got married.

"With so much already behind us, we can’t wait to build more memories together … memories that are full of love, laughter, comfortable silences, movie nights, silly fights, wine delights and Chinese bites. Thank you for all the love and light during this very momentous time in our lives. It has made this moment all the more special."

Meanwhile, on the work front, the couple is awaiting the release of their much-awaited film Brahmastra Part One: Shiva. The Ayan Mukerji directorial marks their first collaboration together. It is scheduled to be released on September 9.
