Ranveer Singh in BJP organised Marathi dandiya - a strategy to woo voters ahead of BMC polls?

Mumbai: Ever since the MVA government was toppled in the state of Maharashtra, BJP is leaving no stone unturned to win the trust of people ahead of civic polls. A meticulously planned strategy by the ruling party is assuring to connect to people through festivities. First launching Marathi Garba with singer Avdhoot Gupte and now roping in A lister of Bollywood, Ranveer Singh in the Marathi Dandiya Garba night.

Ranveer Singh became the main attraction in the Marathi dandiya programme organised on Weekend, 2nd of October by BJP MLA Mihir Kotecha. Ranveer Singh's power packed performance engaged the crowd who participated in the event.

Despite all the criticism by Shiv Sena, BJP’s Marathi dandiya programme became an instant hit on Sunday attracting Bollywood stars and crowds from across the city. BJP, for the first time, had organised the Marathi dandiya programme in the Marathi-dominated Lalbaug area. The programme was organised at Shaheed Bhagat Singh ground, Kala Chowki. A song on God Ram was played with the entry of Ranvir Singh on the stage. Ranveer hailed “Har Har Mahadev, Jai Shivaji” to charge up the crowd. MLA Mihir Kotecha welcomed the actor and felicitated him.

As BJP anticipated the warm response of people for their event, people did not fail them. The ground was jam-packed with Ranveer fans that there was hardly any space left at the premises. Many others had gathered at the ground to see Gully boy’s electric performance and participated in the dandiya programme.

Ranvir did not disappoint his fans and performed the song “Malhari” from his superhit movie “Bajirao Mastani.” He also danced to the famous rap “Apana Time Ayega” from the movie “Gully Boy.” The crowd cheered for the performance and the atmosphere became energetic. Ranveer also distributed iPhone11 to the winners of a contest Rohini Pawar and Mahesh Angre in the programme.

Ranveer Singh recently found himself in soup with his alleged nude photoshoot. Singh was summoned by Mumbai police over the controversy where he submitted his photographs of the photoshoot. Ranveer Singh maintained his stance by claiming that the photos were morphed.
