Prime Minister lands in Delhi after attending G7 Summit, meeting with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan

Abu Dhabi: After concluding his visit to Germany where he attended the G7 Summit and interacted with the Indian diaspora, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday landed in Abu Dhabi for a day-long visit to the United Arab Emirates (UAE).
During his visit to UAE, Prime Minister Modi also paid his condolences on the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the former president of the Gulf nation. UAE President, who had been in office since 2004, died at the age of 73 after a long illness on May 13.

- PM Narendra Modi returns after concluding his visit to Germany and the United Arab Emirates.
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi leaves from Abu Dhabi for New Delhi. UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan saw him off at the airport. He had also received him here, earlier this evening.
- The main purpose of the visit was for PM to convey his personal condolences on passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. "PM made a brief stopover at Abu Dhabi on his return from Munich today. He called on President of UAE & Ruler of Abu Dhabi Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. This was the first in-person meeting b/w the two leaders since August 2019 when Prime Minister visited Abu Dhabi last," the MEA said.
- PM Modi holds meeting with President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan. He was warmly welcomed at the airport by the other leader.

"In a very special gesture, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan and members of the Royal family came all the way to the airport to meet and interact with PM Modi here itself, so that PM did not have to go all the way to the city," said Ministry of External Affairs Spokesperon Arindam Bagchi.

" Leaving Germany after a productive visit in which I attended the @G7Summit, interacted with several world leaders and participated in a memorable community programme in Munich. We were able to discuss many issues aimed at furthering global well-being and prosperity," PM Modi tweeted as he leaves for Dubai.
"I thank the people of Germany, @Bundeskanzler Scholz and the German Government for their hospitality during the entire visit. I am confident India-Germany friendship will scale newer heights in the times to come," he added.
PM Modi had last week informed about his stopover in Dubai and said that he will convey his personal condolences on the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
"On my way back to India, I will make a brief stopover in Abu Dhabi, UAE for a meeting with Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, on June 28 to convey my personal condolences on the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the former UAE President and Ruler of Abu Dhabi," the Prime Minister had earlier said.
UAE President, who had been in office since 2004, died at the age of 73 after a long illness on May 13.
PM Modi had expressed grief over the passing away of Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, calling him a great statesman and visionary leader under whom India-UAE relations prospered.
"I am deeply saddened to know about the passing away of HH Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed. He was a great statesman and visionary leader under whom India-UAE relations prospered. The heartfelt condolences of the people of India are with the people of UAE. May his soul rest in peace," PM Modi had tweeted.
