In a similarly shocking incident earlier this week, a 40-year-old man, reportedly a property dealer, was shot dead in broad daylight in the Noor Nagar area of Jamia Nagar in Delhi on Sunday. The deceased was identified as Waseem Sattar Ghazi, a resident of Allahdiya cottage in Jamia Nagar, reported The Times of India.
Though the man was admitted to Holy Family Hospital soon after he was shot, he was declared brought dead by the doctors.
The hospital authorities informed the police regarding the admission of a patient hit by a bullet. A team from the local police station rushed to the hospital and started an investigation into the matter. The family members of the deceased were also informed about the incident, reported TOI.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the victim, Ghazi was riding his motorcycle on Sunday when an unidentified armed miscreant approached him on a scooty and fired at him near a mosque in Noor Nagar. The assailant fired three round of bullet on Ghazi and then fled the spot.
Police have registered a case under section 302 (murder) and 25, 27,54 and 59 of the Arms Act.
