New Delhi: A day after the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) linked Congress' nationwide protest to the construction of Ram Temple, the grand old party hit out at the ruling party saying the charges were "preposterous".
The Congress on Friday (August 5) stages massive protests across the nation on what they said was a price rise and job crisis in the country. However, the BJP alleged that the Congress wanted to scare as it was probing Sonia and Rahul Gandhi.
By evening, Union Home Minister Amit Shah said the Congress chose this (5th August) day for protest and wore black clothes because they wanted to give a subtle message to further promote their appeasement politics because on this day itself Prime Minister Modi laid the foundation of Ram Janambhoomi in Ayodhya.
PM Modi laid the foundation stone of Ram Temple in Ayodhya on August 5, 2020.
Reacting to this, senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh said the policies of the Modi government were completely opposite to the imagination of Ram Rajya.
"The people are suffering due to the short-sightedness of the government, that is why Lord Ram is also with the Congress fighting for the rights of the people," he said.
Singh further said: "The BJP leaders, who are angry with Congress's satyagraha against inflation, are cursing black color while the black color is the color of the god of justice i.e. Shani Dev and our whole fight is against the unjustly imposed anti-people policies by the Modi government."
Joining him, another senior Congress leader Pawan Kumar Bansal said the allegation was preposterous. "Can anything be more preposterous than the allegation that the Congress organised a protest against price rise on August 5, as the foundation stone of Ram Temple was laid on this day?" he asked.
BJP's Amit Malviya had also tweeted saying, "Prime Minister did shilanyas of Ram Mandir in Ayodhya on 5th August 2020. It can’t be a coincidence that Congress, without any pretext or reason, organised protests on the same day, both in 2021 and now again in 2022. This is nothing but appeasement."
