KEY HIGHLIGHTS

  • Adhik Mehta plays Adhik in Anupamaa
  • The actor opened up on his experience
  • He also spoke about his view of TV today
Anupamaa on Star Plus is currently one of the most loved and talked about shows and there's no denying that fact, for the numbers are out there to see. However, the show has had a couple of entries over the months since it first went on-air. Adhik Mehta, who incidentally plays Adhik on the show as well, spoke to Zoom Digital about the experience on the show, how he approaches a scene, and how television is perceived in general.
About what he wishes ahead and his experience on the show right now, he told us, "What I am doing as Adhik in Anupamaa, is obviously my first time, so I am experiencing each and everything new on the sets. So I don't have expectations that I want to do this this this, because everyday I am experiencing everything new, so I am liking that, so there's nothing particular."
Further, he also spoke about his methods of acting while also highlighting how it depends on co-stars too. He said, "I like to add nuances, what I do is I read the script and I prepare my mind but when we go to the set where we perform with everyone else on the scene, then we do the reading and they might also have something in mind and so it is my job to cater to that and that's when it is a good team, so it is all a perfect combination."
Lastly, the actor has an interesting take on how TV is perceived today and how the actor, as someone from the current generation looks at TV. He says, "What we do on television is a little bit similar to what is being done in series and films, it is a very short form of that, there are no proper sound effects, etc., so the audience should know the different between the three. I think daily soaps are the perfect medium if an actor wants to start because you experience everything."
He concluded, "Technically, you get very very prepared for each and everything, you will learn how to act because that will come with experience, but you get technically so sound that it doesn't matter if it is a daily soap or a series or a film."
Meanwhile, Anupamaa features Rupali Ganguly in the titular role and also has Sudhanshu Pandey, Gaurav Khanna, Nidhi Shah, among others.
