Nagpur: Amid ongoing political claims and counterclaims over CBI/ ED raids on certain political leaders, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) chief Mohan Bhagwat, on Wednesday said that the government agencies are acting against anti-national elements and that 'we' should support them in this. Stressing that religion-based population imbalance is an important subject that cannot be ignored, Bhagwat said that population imbalances lead to changes in geographical boundaries.
Addressing the Vijayadashami celebrations in Nagpur, Bhagwat also responded to the Opposition's cry over unemployment and job creation, and said that the government shouldn't alone be held responsible for jobs and employment. "Society and people should also work for it," he said.
Threatening minorities not 'the nature of Sangh nor of Hindus', says Bhagwat
Commenting on the allegations that there is a danger to minorities because of us, Bhagwat said that such acts are not 'the nature of Sangh nor of Hindus'. "Sangh resolves to stand on the side of brotherhood, amity and peace," Bhagwat said.
Adding that temple, water, and cremation ground should be common for all, Bhagwat said that despite the talks about Hindu Rashtra, many are opposed to the word ‘Hindu’. "We don't have any issue with that. For the clarity of concept - we will keep emphasizing the word Hindu for ourselves," the RSS chief said.
'Change is the rule of the world, but one should be firm on Sanatan Dharma', Bhagwat said, adding that the 'economy is returning to normalcy post-Covid and world economists are predicting that it will grow further'.
"It's a myth that English is important for career. The New Education Policy should lead to students becoming highly cultured, good human beings who are also inspired by patriotism– this is everyone’s desire. Society needs to support this actively," Bhagwat said.
Bhagwat bats for women empowerment
Earlier in his address, Bhagwat said that there is a need to treat women with equality and empower them with the freedom of making their own decisions. Interestingly, his remarks came in presence of Santosh Yadav, the first woman to climb Mount Everest, who was the chief guest for this year's Dussehra celebrations at RSS HQ. This is the first time in the history of RSS that a woman has been invited as the chief guest for the Vijayadashami celebration.
"We must empower our women. Society can't progress without women. Our prestige and credibility increased in the world. The way we helped Sri Lanka, and our stand during the Ukraine-Russia conflict shows that we are being heard," Bhagwat said.
Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, and Deputy CM Devendra Fadnavis were also present at the event.
