John Cena has entered the Guinness Book of World Records for granting most wishes through the Make-A-Wish Foundation. The WWE legend has granted 650 wishes so far. As per guinessworldrecords.com, no other personality has granted more than 200 wishes.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit organisation through which children with a critical illness can meet their favourite personalities. John Cena was the face of WWE during his full-time run and countless kids wanted to meet the WWE legend.
Cena received mixed responses during his first major push but the children in the crowd always adored him. While the fans of the previous generation didn't quite accept Cena as the face during his early years, the kids always backed Cena and that support saw his popularity skyrocket to the next level.
This also saw Cena never turn heel during his career and he became the most recoganisable superstar across the globe. Cena main-evented pay-per-views after pay-per-views and was also part of the last match on Wrestlemanias on occasions.
His WWE popularity saw Cena getting movie offers and he is now a full-time actor like The Rock. Cena became a part-timer in WWE nearly 5 years back and has made sporadic appearances since then. His last storyline was against Roman Reigns at SummerSlam 2021.
Cena made his WWE return after the main event of Money in the Bank 2021 and faced Reigns at the biggest party of the summer. His last in-ring match was after a Smackdown episode in September last year. In June this year, WWE celebrated Cena's 20th anniversary with the company and he was part of the show.
The 16-time World Champion confirmed that he will be back in action. There is no official word regarding his comeback match but the fans are hoping to see him at Wrestlemania 39. He might be involved in a storyline with Austin Theory upon his return.
