Munich: Amid diplomatic tensions over the Russia-Ukraine crisis, G7 leaders mocked Russian President Vladimir Putin over his shirtless, bare-chested horse-riding picture. According to reports, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau and British PM Boris Johnson were heard mocking Putin on the first day of the G7 summit in the Bavarian Alps, The Hill reported, news agency ANI cited.
"Jackets on? Jackets off? Shall we take our clothes off? We all have to show that we're tougher than Putin," Boris Johnson reportedly said.
"We're going to get the bare-chested horseback riding display," Trudeau said. "There you go! There you go! We've got to show them our pecs!" Johnson said in response.
This is not the first time Putin has appeared shirtless. Images of the Russian President, who is an accomplished Taekwondo practitioner, have been shared by Kremlin in Moscow's attempt to shape a 'strongman' image of the Russian President.

Biden-German Chancellor discuss Russia-Ukraine

The G7 nations have collectively condemned the Russian actions in Ukraine. Ahead of the summit, US President Joe Biden had said that "Together, the G7 will announce that we will ban the import of Russian gold, a major export that rakes in tens of billions of dollars for Russia."
"The United States has imposed unprecedented costs on Putin to deny him the revenue he needs to fund his war against Ukraine. Together, the G7 will announce that we will ban the import of Russian gold, a major export that rakes in tens of billions of dollars for Russia," he had further said.
According to a White House statement, the Russia-Ukraine crisis was discussed between Biden and German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. "The leaders underlined their commitment to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, as well as their continued provision of military, economic, humanitarian, and diplomatic support to help Ukraine defend its democracy against Russian aggression," the White House statement said.
