Kamal Haasan becomes latest Indian celebrity to receive UAE’s Golden Visa

Legendary actor Kamal Hassan has been winning the hearts of the audiences at the box office with his latest film Vikram. It also features Vijay Sethupathi, Fahadh Faasil and Suriya. The film has set a new benchmark in the Tamil cinema industry and is showing no signs of slowing down at the theatres.
On Thursday (June 30), the Indian icon and Padma Bhushan awardee Kamal Hassan received a prestigious Golden Visa for 10 years from His Excellency Lieutenant General Mohammed Ahmed Al Marri, Director General, GDRFA Dubai.
Reportedly, the Vishwaroopam actor was one of the first choices recommended by the UAE administration to receive the visa, which was introduced in 2019. However, the pandemic and busy shooting schedule kept him from receiving it.
Before the mega superstar, Kamal Hassan, Vijay Sethupathi Mammootty, Dulquer Salmaan, Jayasurya, Prithviraj and other famous personalities from the South Indian film industry have also received the coveted visa.

Coming to the Bollywood industry, the Badshah of Bollywood, Shah Rukh Khan, Sanjay Dutt, Sunil Shetty, Boney Kapoor and his family, Javed Akhtar and Shabana Azmi have also been given the golden visa.
The UAE Golden Visa is a long-term residence visa system, ranging from 5 to 10 years and gets automatically renewed. The visa is granted to winners from various fields, professionals, investors and those with promising abilities.
According to the reports, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, his highness Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum, earlier approved the issuance of a 10-year golden visa only for professionals in honour to keep the great minds and talented folks in the Gulf country and to help in nation-building.
On the professional front, Kamal Hassan was last seen in Vikram, which is written and directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj. Apart from this, he is gearing up for his upcoming film Indian 2, helmed by S. Shankar. The film is the sequel to the 1996 movie Indian and features Kajal Aggarwal, Siddharth, Rakul Preet Singh, among others.
