In the second unofficial ODI of the three-match series, the Sanju Samson-led India A team will take on the New Zealand A side at the MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai on Sunday (September 25). The hosts won the first match by seven wickets on Thursday (September 22) to go 1-0 up in the series, and a win today will seal the series for the India A team.

In the series opener, the new ball pair of Shardul Thakur (4/32) and Kuldeep Sen (3/30) starred for India A and helped them restrict the visitors to just 167 runs in 40.2 overs. The duo were responsible for the dismissal of seven out of eight top batters and gave India A an upper hand.

And then, in the run chase, all five Indian batters – Prithvi Shaw (17), Ruturaj Gaikwad (41), Rahul Tripathi (31), Sanju Samson (29 not out) and Rajat Patidar (45 not out) – made vital contributions to seal the deal for India A.

India A had won the three-match Test series in Bengaluru by a margin of 1-0 and a win today will also help them secure the white-ball series as well.
