Bollywood enthusiasts who were eagerly awaiting Kesariya's release can enjoy the song in peace. The makers of Ranbir Kapoor and Alia Bhatt starrer Brahmastra dropped the love ballad on Sunday, July 17.
Alia came bearing yet another surprise by announcing a live Instagram session along with director Ayan Mukerji to promote the new song.
While the duo went on to talk about the film and the song, viewers were given a surprise by none other than hubby Ranbir, who then joined in on the discussion. During the live stream, Ranbir is seen asking Alia, "What is our song?"
To which Alia replies "I remember Ranbir ne mujhe yeh question Maasai Mara mai pucha tha, hum log actually lunch kar rahe the, and he asked Alia what is our song? (I remember Ranbir asking me this question during our trip to Maasai Mara, we were having lunch and then he asked, Alia what is our song?)"
Ayan earlier mentioned in the live session that Kesariya wasn't the first song that was supposed to be released but later on felt like the right option after holding numerous discussions with the team.
He further stated that a lot of efforts had been taken to shoot and get the song out while saying "we'll be given too many gaalis."
Ranbir also mentioned that a lot of versions were considered before pushing the song out, from making it a disco theme to the final version. "Everything came to a stop to make this," added Ayan.
Kesariya means something to the happily married couple since the teaser for the song was released a day before their wedding. Director Ayan Mukerji dedicated the teaser to them with the words, "For Ranbir and for Alia! And... For this Sacred Journey they are going to embark on soon."
Brahmastra is expected to be the first part of the Ayan's Astraverse trilogy. The film, titled Brahmastra Part One: Shiva, will be released on September 9 in five languages, namely Hindu, Telegu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Kannada.
The star cast includes Amitabh Bachchan, Nagarjuna Akkineni, and Mouni Roy who will be essaying important roles.
