Everything You Should Know About the Gen3 Ather 450X electric scooters

Ather Energy has introduced the third generation of the 450X and 450 Plus e-scooter priced at ₹1.39 lakh and ₹1.17 lakh, respectively. The price hike not only gets you a 25% bigger battery, which has helped increase the range of both scooters, but there are also some aesthetic changes. Also, the 450X is ₹5,000 dearer than before across India, but in Delhi, it gets dearer by ₹1000 only.

Ather Energy has given the 450X and 450 Plus electric scooters a generation update, which includes a bigger battery, new rear-view mirror and side pegs. The power output of the BLDC electric motor in the 450X has also increased, but torque figures for both the scooters have remained the same.
Ex-showroom prices for both models has also increased with these updates. The Ather 450X now costs ₹1.39 lakh and the 450 Plus retails at ₹1.17 lakh (ex-showroom prices in New Delhi).
Ather Electric has fitted in a bigger 3.7 kWh battery, of which 3.34 kWh is usable in the 450X, and 2.6kWh is usable in the 450 Plus. Since the battery is 25% larger, the kerb weight has also increased from 108 kg to 111.6 kg.
As for their range, the Gen3 450X now has an ARAI-certified range of 146 km up from 116 km. The Ather 450 Plus gets an ARAI-certified range of 108 km, up from 100 km. Real-world mileage figures have also increased from 85 km to 105 km (in Eco mode) for the 450X, and for the 450 Plus it has increased from 70 km to 80 km (Eco mode).

Power output from the BLDC e-motor has also increased up to 6.2kW (Warp mode) for the Ather 450X. But the 450 Plus’ peak power output remains the same at 5.4kW. Along with their torque figures for both, the scooters have remained the same at 26 Nm and 22Nm, respectively.
The Ather 450 scooters are built around the same aluminium frame, and the apron and body panel designs have remained the same. However, the rearview mirrors and side-step feature a new design made out of single-cast aluminium.

The dashboard of the Gen3 Ather 450 e-scooters will also feature the same 7.0-inch touchscreen, but the UI/UX font will be all-new with an upgraded 2 GB RAM. The latter part will also help operate several memory-intensive applications like voice commands, multi-language support, and support heavier graphics and deeper diagnostics.
Aside from that, both the e-scooter will retain the same telescopic forks for suspension and belt drive system, alongside a 22-litre boot space (largest-in-segment). The 12-inch wheels have also remained the same but the tyres have been upgraded from 90/90-12 to 100/80-12 for both front and rear. Both wheels are equipped with disc brakes with regen functions as well.
