Another day, another achievement for Blackpink. Ever since this K-pop girl group made its comeback, they have been on a roll. Setting multiple records both on domestic and international charts, this YG Entertainment band has certainly made history.
From iTunes to Apple Music and YouTube, they are now making their mark on every platform. But before we head on with anything let us backtrack a bit! For those who may not know, Blackpink made their highly anticipated comeback with a new album, Born Pink on Sept 16 along with a music video for the title track, Shut Down.
Since the day of its release, the album has been making headlines. Now the latest addition to its achievements comes on YouTube as the girls have managed to maintain their streak.
As per YouTube’s latest update that came today, on Oct 2, it was said that for chart dating between September 23 – 29, Blackpink’s music video, Shut Down remained at the No.1 position. Not just that, their achievement on the platform brings something else too.
With both the pre-release single, Pink Venom and the MV for the title track, this girl group has remained on top of YouTube's global song chart for six consecutive weeks.
This has also been reflected in the way their channel and views for the latest MVs are increasing. Recently, on September 5, Blackpink crossed 80 million subscribers on its page. A few days later the number went up to 82 million. Quite a quick climb, we must say.
Meanwhile, Blackpink made their comeback on September 16 with their second full-length album, Born Pink. The group is also set to embark on their BORN PINK world tour which will take them across multiple nations. They are kicking off the event with the first show in Seoul at the KSPO Dome on October 15 and 16.
